Unemployment Levels Improving

Unemployment levels are improving. The unemployment level in Stowe, Vermont, is averaging 6.5% according to data reported for April, which is significantly lower than the national average of 8.1%. The unemployment level for Stowe is also down more than one percentage point from a year ago, which is great news, especially considering the poor snow season and the early end to skiing throughout our neck of the woods.

Vermont as a state has an even better unemployment level than Stowe, averaging 4.36%, a stunning number when compared to the nation’s average. An improvement in the Stowe economy and the nation’s economy has led to more optimism, which will lead to more spending. Stowe real estate should no doubt benefit from the national trend as well, which is showing an uptick in both new construction and home sales.
